  • Global homehotel uses paypal to ensure the complete safety of your transaction. That means you have the choice to pay out of your paypal account if you have one, or pay by credit card through the paypal system.
  • Security deposits
  • Security deposits are nice for locals because it means they have to worry a bit less about travellers accidently breaking their toasters, toilet handles, or television remote control. Sometimes people tend to get into very sticky arguments about just how quickly their toaster used to toast, how wobbly toilet handles were, or how sticky the on off button was on the remote control. Therefore Global homehotel does not collect, or reissue security deposits. Your local may charge you a security deposit, but it`s up to them to declare it in the description of their homehotel. And it`s up to the traveller to check with local just what their policy is and decide if they want to agree with it. In summary, Global homehotel does not deal with security deposits, and locals and travellers should make a private agreement before booking about how they`d like to handle it.
  • Payouts and Paypal
  • Payouts are the money you earn as a local after successful stays. Since we pay you the money by paypal by default, you must have a valid paypal account to get your money.
  • The cost of Global homehotel
  • Global homehotel is free to use as both a traveler and a local. When a transaction occurs on the site, we charge a 13% commission split between the traveler and the local. For example if a traveler tries to book a homehotel listed at $100, then GHH would charge $110 to the traveler, and the local would receive $97. That 13% represents all the fees on your transaction through us, because we pay all the credit-card companies and financial institutions from our commission. Please note that it is the responsibility of the travelers and locals to pay additional local sales and income taxes, to the local government if applicable in their area.
  • The advantages of the Global homehotel payout system
  • You’ve been told to be careful about payments online, you know security is important, and that’s why you should use the GHH payout system. Firstly our online system is technologically world-class in preventing fraud, but more than that it provides assurance. Since GHH holds payment until 24 hours after check-in, it means that money only transfers hands once both parties are satisfied. The GHH payout system is a guarantee to the transaction for both traveler and local.
  • Getting paid (in general)
  • Currently, until GHH finalizes contracts with other financial institutions (soon), locals get paid through paypal. This will mean you need a valid paypal account.
  • Getting paid (when)
  • Payment is transferred into your paypal account 24 hours after check-in, if no complaints are received from your traveler.
  • Cleaning fee
  • The cleaning fee is a personal arrangement between travelers and locals. If a local wants to charge a cleaning fee then they must advertise it on their listing. It is the local`s responsibility to collect the cleaning fee at check-in.
  • Non-U.S. currency
  • To the question, does "GHH accept anything besides dollars?"Yes and no. Yes because using paypal you can pay with any currency. No because the amount will be converted into dollars upon transfer.
  • Tax and Taxes
  • You may or may not need to pay tax depending on your location and the laws there. Global homehotel does not give tax advice, you will need to investigate the law and regulations of the city and country of your homehotel. If a property owner determines they need to pay tax, they must advertise that cost in their listing, and it is their sole responsibility to collect taxes.
